THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota - April 15, 2009 — Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, announced today that it is now stocking C&K Components' K5AT, a compact surface mount tactile switch, which features an integrated LED as part of its overall robust design.

Slated to be featured in future print and online catalogs, this switch is now available for immediate shipment on Digi-Key's global websites. Packaged on a 900-piece tape and reel, these switches can also be purchased on custom Digi-Reels or in design/prototype quantities of one or more.

The K5AT switches are able to withstand an actuation force from 4N to 40N, making them suitable for a number of circuit reset applications. Because of its quick actuation response, this tact switch provides a three-way 'see-hear-touch' effect with an audible click, sharp tactile feel and vision recognition via the LED.

Measuring just 8.0 by 8.4 by 6.1mm, the K5AT tact switch is ideal for applications such as telecom and network infrastructure, server and storage reset buttons, as well as medical monitoring equipment and other industrial electronic panels.

The K5AT RoHS compliant tact switch has an operating life of 100,000 cycles and features a highly reliable gold-plated dome contact.
